Experience the charm of a Villa Medicea di Lilliano wedding, beautifully captured on 35mm & 120mm analogue film, plus digital photography. A romantic Tuscan editorial for nostalgic brides.
Just days after arriving in Italy from Australia, I drove through the Tuscan countryside from Sorrento toward Florence, excited to photograph a wedding editorial at the historic Villa Medicea di Lilliano. With fresh rolls of 35mm and 120mm analogue film packed alongside my digital camera, I was ready to capture the villa’s timeless beauty. From its stone walls to sweeping vineyards, every detail of this venue set the stage for a wedding that is both elegant and personal.
Tuscany is unmatched in charm—its golden light, fragrant olive groves, and rich history make it an incredible backdrop for couples seeking artistic, nostalgic wedding photos. This editorial was designed to showcase the best of Tuscany wedding photography, captured on a mix of analogue film for its timeless, authentic feel, and digital to complete the story.

Film captures light, skin tones, and emotions in a way that feels real and organic. Shooting mostly on 35mm and 120mm film meant being intentional with every frame, highlighting the beauty of quiet, in-between moments. Complemented by digital photography, this gallery blends timeless nostalgia with vibrant storytelling.
Choosing an analogue film photographer in Italy isn’t just about the aesthetic—it’s about trusting someone who can preserve the true emotions and fleeting moments of your day. Shooting in Tuscany, surrounded by history and natural beauty, film was the perfect medium to bring this vision to life.
Located just outside Florence, Villa Medicea di Lilliano combines historic charm with stunning scenery, featuring courtyards, gardens, and terraces overlooking the Duomo. For this shoot, the villa’s character guided every decision, from the soft color palette to the thoughtful details. If you’re dreaming of a Villa Medicea di Lilliano wedding, rest assured this venue will elevate your special day effortlessly.
We wanted to capture the feeling of a full wedding day, moving from the quiet anticipation of the morning to the golden hour celebrations.
Our bride moved through the day in two distinct, stunning gowns. For the ceremony, she wore a delicate, ethereal piece by Olesia Sova that caught the Tuscan breeze perfectly. Later, she changed into a chic reception gown from Two Hearts Bridal Studio for a more modern, evening look. The morning preparations were equally beautiful, featuring soft, delicate lingerie from Taliala Leisurewear.
The groom’s attire from House of Falcone brought a classic, sharp edge to the day. His tailored look perfectly complemented the sophisticated atmosphere of the villa and the timeless quality of the black-and-white film portraits.
Every element was carefully curated to enhance the venue without overpowering it. The florals by Cristina Palumbo felt wild and organic, mirroring the surrounding gardens. Carte Lab provided elegant stationery that set a romantic tone. And no Italian wedding story is complete without a classic ride—a vintage Fiat provided by Olesia Sova added the perfect touch of “La Dolce Vita” charm to the couple’s portraits.
Planning a wedding in Italy is about creating an experience. The images from your day should transport you back to the warmth of the sun, the laughter in the courtyard, and the intimate moments shared with your partner. This is the promise of Tuscany wedding photography on film: creating heirlooms that only become more precious with time.
