Tell me about yourselves … How did you meet? What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What’s important in life?
We are both born and raised in Port Hedland, we went to high school together. We weren’t friends and I thought he was snobby! I left Hedland to finish high school and study teaching in Perth/Bunbury, and absolutely hated the busy pace of city life. I moved straight back home and my big sister (who is best friends with his big brother) told me about how he had gotten hot and was really nice. I told her “pfffft I remember when he had blonde tips in his hair. As if!” My sister-in-law and sister then invited us both out bush to go swimming in a water hole. And the rest is history – we absolutely clicked and were so shocked to learn how similar we are! We absolutely bring out the best in each other and are truely the bestest of friends. Brandon has a daughter, cleo, so I am so lucky to be her step mum – she is absolutely the best thing to happen to Brandon! We spend our days catching up with our families, eating at the two restraints we have in town and when the wet season kicks in we love it drive our bush and swim in water holes. We’re pretty simple people!
The proposal? …Tell me all the details
He proposed in July 2017 when we went on our first overseas holiday to America. We went to Los Angeles, New York and then Orlando (Disney World). He has originally planned to propose in New York but got so excited (and probably scared hiding a ring in his bag) he proposed on our second day in LA, right under the Hollywood Sign we hiked up to!
